Financial Accountant - 6-Month Contract (possibility to go perm)

Are you a qualified or finalist Financial Accountant looking for a contract role where you can really make an impact? We're recruiting for a growing, forward-thinking organisation based just outside Liverpool city centre, offering an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, friendly finance team during a period of growth and change.
This is an initial 6-month contract, paying £45k-£60k depending on experience, with free on-site parking, flexible hybrid working, and a genuinely collaborative culture.

The Role

As Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting month-end and statutory processes. You'll have exposure to both core accounting and value-adding activities, making this an engaging and varied role.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
• 
  Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reviews
• 
  Leading or supporting the month-end close process
• 
  Assisting with statutory accounts and audit queries
• 
  Managing accruals, prepayments, journals, and fixed assets
• 
  Supporting cashflow reporting and financial controls
• 
  Partnering with budget holders to provide financial insight and analysis
• 
  Contributing to process improvements and system enhancements
• 
  VAT returns

About You

• 
  ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or finalist (or equivalent experience)
• 
  Strong financial accounting background in industry or practice
• 
  Confident working to deadlines in a fast-moving environment
• 
  Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders
