Senior Management Accountant

£45,000 - £50,000
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Management Accountant looking to step up into a broader, more autonomous role within a multi-entity group structure. It would suit someone who has previously worked in a fast-paced environment, taking full ownership of the month-end process, and who has had exposure to audit and external reporting requirements.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives working independently, has strong technical accounting expertise, and can deliver accurate, timely financial information to support strategic decision-making and external reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
Full ownership of the monthly management accounts across all group entities
Preparation of a robust monthly MI pack to a high reporting standard
Variance analysis with clear and concise commentary on performance
Consolidation of group financials across all entities
Balance Sheet & Controls
Complete ownership of balance sheet reconciliations across all companies
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and audit readiness of all financial records
Investigate and resolve discrepancies proactively
Technical Accounting
Management of fixed asset registers, including:
Depreciation calculations
Asset disposals
Accounting for financed assets (e.g. leases/HP)
Handling intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Management of accruals and prepayments
Payroll & Related Accounting
Full responsibility for payroll across all entities
Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
Reconciliation of payroll within management accounts
Group & Operational Support
Partner with operational teams across the group
Provide financial insight to support business performance
Assist with audit requirements and external reporting
Key Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA preferred) or qualified by experience
Strong background in management accounting and financial reporting
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with full month-end ownership
Exposure to audit processes and external reporting
