A growing and innovative organisation is seeking an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career who has gained exposure to management accounts and is looking to develop their technical skills within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the production of monthly management accounts and work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial information and analysis.

This is a developmental position that will provide exposure to budgeting, forecasting, month-end processes and commercial finance activities, making it an ideal next step for an aspiring management accountant.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support month-end close activities and reporting deadlines.
• Assist in the production of management information and financial reports.
• Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on key trends.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist with cash flow reporting and monitoring.
• Provide support during year-end audit processes.
• Work with non-finance stakeholders across the business.
• Contribute to process improvements and finance projects.

About You

• Previous experience within a finance role.
• Exposure to management accounts preparation.
• AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or looking to begin studies.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive attitude and genuine desire to progress within finance.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
