Are you a newly or nearly qualified ACA/ACCA looking for an Audit role where you can take more ownership, manage client relationships and start developing your leadership experience?
A highly respected accountancy practice is looking to appoint a qualified Audit Senior or Part-Qualified Semi-senior to its growing Preston team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond simply delivering audit fieldwork. You'll have your own portfolio, greater client responsibility, exposure to Managers, Directors and Partners, and the opportunity to supervise and develop junior members of the team.
Audit Senior Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries
- Plan and organise assignments, agreeing timescales and requirements directly with clients
- Prepare audit planning documentation, identifying key risks and the most efficient approach to each assignment
- Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Supervise and review the work of Seniors, Semi-Seniors and Trainees
- Ensure audit files are complete and review points are addressed before submission to Manager or Partner
- Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout assignments
- Attend client sites and gain a genuine understanding of their businesses
- Liaise with other departments to ensure wider compliance work is appropriately planned
- Prepare initial reports, projections and supporting information for senior review
- Monitor statutory deadlines, including Companies House and corporation tax filings
- Support and develop junior members of the team through coaching and on-the-job guidance
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and overall client service
Audit Senior Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified/nearly qualified
- Audit experience gained within an accountancy practice
- Strong, up-to-date technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
- Experience taking responsibility for audit assignments
- Previous experience supervising or supporting junior team members would be beneficial
- Confident communicating directly with clients and senior stakeholders
- Organised and comfortable managing multiple assignments and deadlines
- Commercially aware with a strong focus on client service
- Experience with Sage, Excel and Word, with CaseWare experience advantageous
- Basic knowledge of corporation tax computations would be useful but isn't essential
