Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a well-established business on the outskirts of Chester to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to lead and manage the financial operations.

This is a key strategic role, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial insights to support senior leadership in making informed decisions and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end reporting, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare comprehensive management packs and executive summaries for the Board.
  • Own the cash management and forecasting process.
  • Produce and review financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage financial controls, including PAYE, VAT, and payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporation tax requirements and submit all necessary documentation accurately and on time.
  • Manage the annual audit process.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for key business investments.
  • Support the Finance Director with funding requirements, reporting, and other strategic financial activities.
  • Identify and implement IT solutions to improve financial processes, efficiency, and reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of empowerment, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Strong track record in financial control and management reporting.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to analyse and improve systems, processes, and financial strategies.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to change.
