Interim Financial Controller - 6 Month Contract
Location: Manchester (On-site, Free Parking)
Salary: Up to £80,000
We're working with a well-established organisation based in Manchester who are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join them on a 6-month fixed-term basis. This is a 5-day on-site role, ideal for someone who enjoys being at the heart of the business and leading a hands-on finance team.
You'll be responsible for managing a team of 5 and overseeing the delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting, while supporting the wider business through a period of change.

Key Responsibilities:

  Lead, manage, and develop a finance team of 5
• 
  Oversee the production of monthly management accounts
• 
  Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes
• 
  Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• 
  Produce statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
• 
  Maintain robust financial controls and compliance processes
• 
  Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• 
  Business partner with departmental heads to support financial decision-making
• 
  Drive process improvements across finance systems and reporting
• 
  Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as needed

The Ideal Candidate:

• 
  Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• 
  Proven experience in a Financial Controller role
• 
  Strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge
• 
  Confident managing and mentoring a finance team
• 
  Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• 
  Strong Excel and financial systems experience
