Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Liverpool based with occasional travel
Salary: £80,000 per annum + 15% bonus + car allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to join a leading organisation during a key phase of its financial transformation. Reporting to the UK & Ireland CFO, this newly created role will play a pivotal part in enhancing financial control and process efficiency across the UK operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the centralisation of key financial controls and balance sheet accounts from operational sites to the central function.

  • Design, implement and manage SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliant controls, removing local site burdens and assuming full responsibility at the centre.

  • Act as the control owner for all centralised financial processes, ensuring full SOX compliance and accurate documentation.

  • Review and approve key SOX and Financial Monitoring controls for UK operating sites.

  • Own and manage the centralised balance sheet, including forecasting, reconciliations, and detailed account reviews.

  • Oversee the UK fixed assets portfolio

  • Support sites with segregation of duties (SOD) challenges, particularly around manual journal entries.

  • Lead process improvement and change initiatives focused on strengthening internal controls and enhancing SOX compliance.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong audit background and experience in a SOX-controlled environment. They will possess the ability to balance control and operational priorities.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).

  • Experience within audit or internal controls, ideally from a professional services or corporate environment.

  • Sound understanding of financial cycles and associated control functions.

  • Comfortable with regular travel and working from the Liverpool office at least two days per week.
