Cost & Commercial Analyst

The Role
The Cost & Commercial Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of project cost control, including budget setup, updates and monitoring, change management, variation estimating, cost reporting, risk contingency, and forecasting activities. The role ensures financial discipline across projects and supports project teams with timely, accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily project reporting to ensure alignment between project costs and revenue.
Conduct performance analysis, identifying and understanding variances against budgets and forecasts.
Reconcile forecasted and actual expenditures, producing project accruals.
Coordinate and manage updates to project forecasts, incorporating inputs from project teams and clients.
Support monthly financial close by posting cost accruals, unbilled revenue, and calculating adjustments based on project progress.
Prepare in-depth variance analysis and financial reporting for projects.
Compile cost and financial input for Project Monthly Status Reports (PMSR).
Provide accurate monthly reporting of Value of Work Done (VOWD) and long-term cash flow forecasts.
Perform economic analysis, assess deviations and probability, and support project management with financial and accounting issues.
Prepare detailed revenue forecasts and variance reports for clients, including supporting documentation for cost-plus items.
Create Applications for Payment (AFP) in line with pricing schedules.
Liaise with the supply chain on requisitions, hire control, and goods receipting.
Support project closure activities, including purchase order reconciliation and final margin reporting.
Skills and Experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience in cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Advanced Excel skills, with strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Experience with CSAM is desirable.
Experience in offshore, oil and gas, or renewable energy industries is advantageous.
