We're on the lookout for a talented part qualified accountant to join a fast-growing independent business with multiple locations across Merseyside. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial foundations of a business that's expanding rapidly and making a big name for itself locally.

The Role

You'll work closely with the Finance Director to ensure the numbers are watertight and provide real-time insights that drive smarter decision-making across the business. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and ideal for someone eager to take ownership and grow with the company.

What You'll Do

• Produce weekly trading reports on sales, margins, labour costs, and cashflow.

• Support with budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.

• Perform reconciliations (bank, tills, POS) and ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE/NIC, and HMRC requirements.

• Introduce process improvements for cash handling, stock control, and supplier payments.

• Provide simple, clear dashboards and insights for non-finance colleagues.

• Maintain and develop accounting systems (e.g. Xero/QuickBooks).

About You

• Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or strong experience in a similar finance role.

• Great Excel skills and confident with cloud accounting software.

• Knowledge of VAT, payroll basics, and ideally multi-site retail/hospitality operations.

• Detail-driven, deadline-focused, and a clear communicator.

• Proactive, commercial, and ready to "roll up your sleeves" in a growing business.
