An opportunity has arisen to join a fast=moving, SME Construction company in Runcorn. This business is looking for a Financial Controller / Finance Director who can ensure the business continuously improves financial controls, reporting and performance.

Reporting into the Directors, this is a No1 on-site Finance role, with a small team reporting into you.

As Finance Director you will be responsible for driving the financial reporting and control across the sites. You will lead the Finance function within the business and will be responsible for maintaining and improving all financial aspects of the company.

As Financial Controller /Finance Director your Main Duties and Responsibilities will be:

• Full month end / year end closing process.
• Weekly cashflow reporting.
• Monthly P&L and pre and post project accounting reports to drive decision making.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Weekly payroll and monthly salary review and approvals.
• Monthly full year P&L forecasts.
• Leading the focus on increasing turnover, margin and driving costs down.
• Manage one direct staff and manage the payroll and accounting outsourced provider.
• Leading the annual budget process.
• Liaise with external auditors.
• Deal with HMRC and bank contact.
• Rigorous cash management and supplier payments.
• Proactively seek improvements to processes / achieving financial efficiency's.

• Experience within an SME environment
• A strong degree of commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work on own initiative and achieve deadlines.
• Experience of working within Construction sector is advantageous
