In this role, you will be a key member of the accounts team, supporting the finance department and the wider business by delivering accurate and timely financial insights to guide strategic decision-making. This is a pivotal position, offering exposure to senior leadership and providing an excellent opportunity to develop your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day management of the finance function.
  • Act as a finance business partner to the IT and Marketing senior leadership teams.
  • Oversee the preparation of management accounts, including journal reviews and approvals.
  • Manage and mentor a team of three direct reports, supporting their growth and development.
  • Provide clear financial analysis and reporting to stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Play an active role in the annual budgeting process.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline internal systems and processes, driving efficiency.
  • Support internal audits, compliance checks, and business projects as required.
  • Step in to cover the Accounting Manager when needed.

Your Skills and Experience:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in finance and team management. To excel in this role, you should bring the following skills and experience:

  • Strong financial modelling expertise.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including macros and Power Automate).
  • Experience in managing and coaching junior team members.
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified in a recognised accounting qualification
  • High-level IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in designing and implementing incentive schemes is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
