Simon Massey

Simon is the founder of Accountable Recruitment which he set up in 2010, and now has over 22 years in the recruitment industry, spanning two continents.

 

His vision was to enhance the recruitment experience for candidates and clients alike, bringing honesty, strong ethics and a straightforward approach, which has been immensely successful.

 

Simon manages the business and is the first to admit he couldn’t do this without the fantastic support he receives from his senior leadership team.   Simon is directly responsible for Executive Recruitment, running the prestigious annual Finance Director Awards programme in conjunction with partners, Grant Thornton and HSBC, and the quarterly Executive & FD Club and HRD club events.

 

He is a well liked and trusted recruitment partner, having built a successful brand over the last 9 years and developed a talented team of recruiters.


Not one to stand still, Simon splits his spare time between his young family and trying to watch as much sport as permits which can be quite a challenge given his busy lifestyle.

Lauren Harrison

Lauren joined Accountable in 2018 after 10 years’ experience working in recruitment across the North West. She has worked across Professional Services markets focussing on Accountancy & Finance. Here at Accountable Lauren manages the Liverpool City Region team whilst also being directly responsible for Permanent Qualified positions. 

 

Lauren has built strong candidate and client relationships over the years; she has a strong and flexible work ethic and is committed to supporting you with her open and honest approach.

Lauren has a strong network and her client portfolio ranges from large blue chip companies to entrepreneurial SME’s, many of which are private equity backed.

 

In her spare time, Lauren is kept busy with her young daughter and socialising with friends. Additionally, she is an avid reader, particularly motivational self-help books and podcasts.

For 8 years Paul managed recruitment offices across Liverpool, Warrington and Chester and he was ranked as one of the top 2 Managers in the world, for two consecutive years, when working for a large international recruitment business.

For the past 5 years Paul has successfully completed his CIPD qualification whilst working as an HR professional, but has once again been drawn back to recruitment. His friendly, down to earth approach with both candidates and clients, enables him to build genuine long lasting, working relationships.

Paul leads the part-qualified and transactional recruitment division of Accountable Recruitment.  His success is driven by his market knowledge and his ability to match technical skills and personality to meet client expectations.

In his spare time Paul enjoys spending time with his young family and competes at sports such as football, golf and triathlons.

Louise Garforth

Business Development Director

Louise joined Accountable Recruitment in June 2019 to work closely with Simon and the team to drive the business development strategy within the North West region, with a particular emphasis on delivering new business, enhancing existing relationships and supporting Simon to ensure the successful delivery of the Finance Director Awards.

Louise has developed insights into commercial development and winning new business across multiple industries within the private, public, and not for profit sectors and has grown a strong network of senior executive level contacts whom she keeps in regular contact with.

In her spare time Louise can usually be found hanging out on the Wirral with her husband and family - juggling a myriad of extra-curricular activities like being a dance mum and Brownies and has recently taken up running and golf!

Rebecca Butler

Manager – Cheshire Region

Rebecca is a key member of our high performing qualified recruitment team, directly responsible for qualified roles across Warrington and the wider Cheshire region.    

 

Rebecca joined the Accountable team in October 2019 having worked in Accountancy / Finance recruitment across the North West for 15 years. Subsequently bringing with her 15 years’ worth of client and candidate relationships and specialist market knowledge across the sector.

 

Rebecca’s flexible work ethic enables her to adapt to your specific needs, offering a truly bespoke service every time. Her consultative and honest approach has allowed her to forge long and successful working relationships across the region.

 

In her spare time…. Rebecca has no spare time! She is kept very busy with her two young children. Weekends are spent exploring the beaches and countryside of the Wirral coastline where she lives with her husband. Her hobbies are enjoying a glass of wine in the local pub, oh and running and reading.

Sam joined Accountable back in 2016 having come from a sales and retail background. Sam’s natural ability to the hustle and bustle of recruitment is proven in his recent and well-deserving promotion to Principal Consultant. Sam is a quality, service driven and dedicated ‘list-maker’. He specialsies in the Permanent Part-Qualified market of Finance and Accounting professionals across the Liverpool City Region. Sam is a loyal member of the team building well-respected relationships with all.

 

Sam’s hard work and self-motivation with the diligence to see all projects to an end, has led to long-lasting and secure client and candidate relationships across a variety of sectors. Sam’s honest and reliable approach has seen him go the extra-mile on countless occasions in order to ensure all recruitment needs are delivered to exceptional standards and on time.

 

Aside from recruitment Sam’s time is usually taken up by socialising with friends or his passion for sport, whether this is playing football or attempting to play golf on a weekend.

Kelly Edwards

North West Practice Division

Kelly studied Law at the University of Liverpool before completing the LPC, and subsequently worked at two top 50 UK law firms in the insurance sector for a number of years.

 

Kelly made the transition into legal recruitment in 2016 and has now moved into Accountancy and Finance with Accountable Recruitment. Kelly is responsible for North West Practice Division. Known for her honest, friendly and professional approach, she will go that extra mile for new and existing candidates and clients to provide an excellent consultative service.

 

Kelly is from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch(!) and is fluent in Welsh. Outside of work, Kelly likes to keep fit, watch films and socialise with friends.

Megan Hughes

Manager - Temporary/Interim Division

Megan joined Accountable in 2019 having worked in the recruitment industry since 2015 and relocating to the North West.   Megan has a combined passion for sourcing talent and developing long-term and sustained candidate and client relationships.    Given her background and experience, Megan is the perfect person to manage our temporary and interim division whilst also being directly responsible for all temporary roles across Cheshire and North Wales.  

 

Megan is a multi-sector recruiter, who’s greatest contribution to the organisation lies in her natural ability to interact positively with people, in combination with her strong drive to achieve worthwhile results. 

 

When not in work, Megan enjoys cooking, time spent with family and keeping fit.  Nights out with friends is also high on Megan’s agenda.

Office Manager

With over 16 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, as a Sales Support/Talent Specialist, June is uniquely placed to support the team at Accountable and is crucial to our ongoing growth and success.

 

With experience predominantly in the Finance & Accounting sector she has also worked in Education and Healthcare recruitment and has a wealth of knowledge and superb administrative and support skills.

 

June previously worked with Simon 14 years earlier, when they set up an office for an international recruitment firm in Liverpool, so we are delighted to have her on board once more.

 

Spare time is mainly taken up with her young daughter and spending time with family and friends!

Amy-Louise Lowrie

Amy studied Law at the University of Chester before completing her Masters at the University of Law in Liverpool.

 

Amy has worked in numerous legal domains but has now transitioned into recruitment having also previously worked within a challenging sales environment.  Amy will always go the extra mile for her clients, she prides herself on finding the best fit for both candidates and clients alike. Amy is responsible for Part Qualified Finance roles across the Cheshire and North Wales regions.

 

In her free time, Amy enjoys keeping up with the latest fashion, travelling and the occasional espresso martini. She loves spending time with her family and planning events.

Olivia started her career in a very customer focused, service sector organisation where she completed 4 successful years before joining Accountable in 2021.

 

Over this period Olivia has developed a relationship driven approach and believes honesty is the most important factor to success. Olivia goes out of her way and prides herself on ensuring both candidates and clients have a positive experience from the moment she makes contact with them doing everything possible to manage their expectations and meet their needs.

 

Outside of work Olivia is a social butterfly and enjoys nights out with friends. She is also interested in fashion and keeping up with new and upcoming trends. During the past 12 months, Olivia has started to stretch her legs more and now enjoys long walks outdoors averaging 25 miles per week.

 

Olivia works within the temporary recruitment team.

Georgia began her career in recruitment at a global recruitment firm before joining Accountable in 2021. Georgia joins the team to help drive forward transactional recruitment in Liverpool and is responsible for permanent placements.

 

With over 5 years experience as cabin crew at an iconic, long haul airline, Georgia has hung up her wings, and transferred her skillset and qualities from the flying world into the recruitment world. Georgia prides herself on her ability to provide a smooth, polished, professional and first class service at all times to both her clients and candidates. Being a natural listener, she is able to understand and acknowledge key requirements and will always endeavour to find you exactly what you’re looking for.

 

Fuelled by her passion for helping others, Georgia offers a genuine and friendly approach and will guide and advise you through the recruitment journey.

 

In her spare time, Georgia enjoys taking her Chow Chow on long walks in the countryside, spending quality time with her 3 sisters and loves trying different wine and good food!
